Information about Brexit
As of the 1st of January 2021 the United Kingdom (UK) is no longer member of the European Union. This has also consequences for the licences and certificates issued in the UK. Licences and related certificates, including certificates of instructors, that are issued by the UK CAA have to be considered as certificates issued in countries that are not an EASA Member State.
If a UK licence or certificate has not been transferred to an EASA Member State before the 1st of January 2021, the licence or certificate is no longer valid and acknowledged in the EU and will be considered as a document from a third country. If the licenceholder wants to transfer the licence to an EASA Member State, it is necessary to issue an initial issue/acceptance/conversion and to meet all requirements accordingly. See the EASA website for more information.
